What an awesome weekend!!!! You
guys were able to capitalize on your skills and strategy and all the OKC
scorers were able to stay one and done. As of now, we moved up 5 spots and are 5 spots out from qualifying. With at least 3 more scored WODs in our future, we are in a great spot.
The way it looks right now is that
it is gonna continue to be a team battle to the end. 8 more reps would have
brought us up one place point on the leaderboard. One place point seems like nothing
now… but when 15.5 comes to a close, it may be one place point that keeps us
from a trip to Mini-Soda. Some of you might think that it’s no big deal, but I believe
that the Regional environment will be a great way for our new OKC squad to
mature together.
I feel as if we have seen more
growth in OKC athletes as they prepare for the Regional competition than we
have anywhere else. I told/asked some of you not to redo the WOD because I felt
it would be detrimental to the rest of your Open. Those of you who trusted the
strategy, those of you who maximized your potential, who tore your hands and
broke you nose, and those of you who repeated the WOD trying to move OKC up the
leaderboard, you guys are the heroes of the week. Please, if you aren’t planning
to do the WOD twice… change your mind. I know you don’t believe me, but you are
the difference makers.
Example 1: 23 pounds (less than 4
lbs per person) last week was the difference between our 53rd place
and Complete’s 41st…12 place points and our current place on the
overall leaderboard would have been 19th.
Example 2 : 41 lbs (6.8 pounds per
person) was the difference between 53rd and 29th, and our current
overall place would have been 16th overall.
I am not crying over spilt milk or
trying to play [Tuesday] morning quarterback. I am also not trying to make your
head explode because of cliché overload. I am trying to say every rep or pound
counts and matters. I can’t see the future, but I envision another multiscore
WOD is coming in one, two or three weeks.
I am so proud of this OKC Squad.
Fighting with the Misfits last year has prepared you to fight together again this
year. I am predicting a grunt work grinder this week. A “throw caution and
skill to the wind” type WOD. I will post the remaining “Open movements” and my
WOD predictions to the Group. Meanwhile, here is your extra Work.
